My Approach

I provide psychotherapy for a minimum of 6 sessions or on a longer term basis. More often I work with varied presenting issues over a longer term to provide clients with resources, resilience and resolutions to cope with impactful or traumatic life experiences. My psychotherapy training and diploma is in Transactional Analysis from an Integrative Perspective and included training for both integrative transactional analysis and relational transactional analysis. My psychotherapeutic approach uses aspects from both these schools of transactional analysis as well as a trauma informed approach when needed.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Anxiety and depression are often common reasons for beginning psychotherapy. Exploring relative presenting issues within psychotherapy may result in a beneficial change to symptoms along with greater understanding of the impact of current or pervious life events or situations.
Stress can have a consequential influence on our lives. It could be stress is not recognised until it starts to affect our ability to carry out daily routines or there are noticeable changes in our behaviour or relationships. Changes in family situations, relationships and life events can be stressful and effect our wellbeing. Psychotherapy can help to understand hidden or apparent stress in life.
Traumatic experiences often may have a significant long-term impact on both young people and adults. In a safe therapeutic environment, the symptoms and effects of traumatic experiences can be supported and explored. Due to my experience in working with range of trauma presentations along with a certificate in Trauma Informed Practice and ongoing learning (CPD); I provide a supportive and safe environment to look at the impact of trauma.
