I draw on a range of relational theories and values, depending on what is the best fit for the individual, couple or families’ needs. I am also trained in Non-Violent Resistance, and I often find that parents can find these ideas helpful when difficulties are arising around parenting and relationships with adolescents.
As a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, I believe in going beyond purely listening and I share my ideas and experiences to create a collaborative and relational space. I would work with you to ensure we develop goals that align to the meaningful change you are hoping for, to maintain a clear sense of direction and purpose in our work together.
Developing a strong therapeutic relationship with clients in a secure space is a priority for me and I offer a free 20 minute telephone call where we can talk and find out what your expectations and goals are and if what I can offer is a good fit for you.
I am a creative and down to earth UKCP registered Family and Systemic Psychotherapist. I have experience of working with different family structures, such as parents and children, sibling groups, couples, individuals and other ways that people build families. I have experience of doing this work in a CAMHS setting and within an inner London local authority.
I take a non-judgemental approach and understand that all relationships run into difficulties at some point. I ensure diverse beliefs and cultures are respected and that clients are seen as the expert of their own lives. I emphasise an anti-racist and anti- oppressive stance and attend to other contexts that might be influencing difficulties; I understand that complex social, cultural and political experiences cannot be reduced down to only the behaviour or symptoms of individuals.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
