My Approach

As a therapist, my practice is grounded in the principles of safety, respect, and individualized care. I am fully committed to working at my clients' pace, creating a safe and confidential environment where clients can freely explore their thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Regardless of religion, sexuality, culture, race, social standing, neurodiversity, age, or gender, I strive to provide a secure space devoid of judgment. This emphasis on safety and confidentiality aligns closely with my focus on promoting self-awareness and self-acceptance, which are essential elements for any transformative healing process.

One cornerstone philosophy of my work is neuro-affirmative practice. I recognize the deep interplay between psychological and neurological factors, enabling a nuanced, in-depth understanding of mental health. This approach allows me to address not just the manifest symptoms but also the root causes of psychological distress.

My practice is an LGBTQIA+ affirming space, where diversity in gender, sexual orientation, and identity is not just acknowledged but respected and integrated into the therapeutic journey.

Overall, my goal is to guide clients toward not just better mental health, but holistic well-being, offering a compassionate space for growth, discovery, and healing.

***Please note, to ensure that your enquiry is dealt with in a timely and professional manner, all initial inquiries are handled by my clinical assistant, who is dedicated to assisting you promptly and efficiently.***

About Me

Sometimes our thoughts and emotions can feel too much for us to deal with. We may feel vulnerable, lost, torn or stuck, and find ourselves in need of help. Therapy allows us to gain an understanding of ourselves and creates a path towards positive change.

I am a professionally qualified and highly experienced UKCP Accredited Counselling Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor, working with adolescents, adults, couples and groups. Regardless of your gender, sexuality, relationship configuration, religious and political beliefs, I believe I can empower you to make sense of your life, help you to understand your personal challenges and to facilitate desired changes.

My areas of expertise include depression, anxiety & stress, neurodiversity (ADHD, autism), low self-esteem, relationship and commitment issues, family dynamics, addictions, LGBQTIA+ affirming therapy, bereavement & loss, trauma & PTSD.

I also have a keen interest in psychosomatic illnesses, particularly those related, but not limited, to a reproductive cycle such us; PMDD, menopause, perimenopause, post-menopause, etc.

I have extensive experience of working as a therapist with adults, students, and young people at various well-known treatment organisations; NHS, Mind and Tasha Foundation just to name a few.

My modality is Integrative Psychotherapy, which combines different therapeutic tools and approaches to fit the needs and goals of the individual client. By combining psychological theory and research from CBT, Mindfulness, neuroscience, EMDR, Transactional Analysis and Creative Therapies I create a flexible and tailor-made treatment for my clients. The aim is to help clients identify the core of their emotional difficulty, so it can be resolved.

I consider myself to be a depth orientated psychotherapist, aiming to help clients identify the core of their emotional difficulty, so it can be truly resolved.

I can provide therapy in English or in Polish (no translators).

Training, qualifications & experience.
-------------------------------------------
I received my training in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy at the Northern Guild, an institution accredited by both the BACP and UKCP. I further deepened my expertise by earning a Master's degree in Psychotherapy from Birmingham University, where I was honored with a distinction. In addition to this formal education, I also hold a certificate in Clinical Supervision, and have completed EMDR UK & Europe recognised training. Committed to continuous professional development, I stay abreast of the latest research and methodologies by reading current literature and attending industry-specific workshops

Supervision
-------------------------------------------
As a qualified and experienced integrative supervisor, I bring a wealth of knowledge from various therapeutic disciplines to enrich my supervisory work. My approach to supervision is grounded in a deep commitment to the supervisee's objectives, the well-being of their clients, adherence to ethical guidelines, and the continuous advancement of professional skills. Over the years, I have engaged with a diverse array of clinical settings and issues, equipping me with a broad understanding of the challenges and opportunities that supervisees might encounter. Those who work with me often describe me as approachable and dynamic, qualities that I believe foster a collaborative and enriching supervisory relationship. Central to my supervisory style is the concept of 'the use of self,' which encourages supervisees to integrate personal insights into their professional practice. This reflective process not only enhances the therapeutic relationship but also serves as a powerful tool for understanding and navigating the complexities of the supervisee's role.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have extensive experience supporting individuals across the lifespan who identify with or are exploring traits associated with ADHD and Autism. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming, grounded in the understanding that these presentations are not deficits, but variations in how people perceive, process, and interact with the world. I work with both diagnosed and self-identifying clients, recognising that many people—particularly women, non-binary individuals, and those from marginalised backgrounds—may not receive formal diagnoses until later in life, if at all. My work involves helping clients understand their unique cognitive and emotional profiles, often supporting them in navigating challenges related to executive functioning, sensory sensitivities, social communication, emotional regulation, and the impact of masking or camouflaging behaviours. I also pay close attention to co-occurring experiences such as anxiety, low self-esteem, and burnout, which frequently arise in the context of living in environments that are not always accommodating or inclusive of neurodivergent needs. Therapeutically, I draw on a range of integrative, evidence-based approaches tailored to the individual. These include psychoeducation, strengths-based coaching, trauma-informed care, and relational work that addresses the impact of neurodivergence on identity, wellbeing, and interpersonal dynamics. I also offer support to partners, families, and others in the client’s system, helping to foster greater understanding and communication. My goal is to create a safe, validating space in which clients feel seen and respected, and where they are supported in developing strategies that honour their differences while enhancing their quality of life. Whether we are exploring identity, managing overwhelm, or addressing the longer-term effects of being misunderstood, my practice is centred on acceptance, empowerment, and long-term wellbeing.
I have a special interest and expertise in working with clients experiencing various forms of anxiety. My comprehensive approach combines evidence-based techniques like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), as well as in-depth psychotherapy. This allows me not only to address the surface manifestations of anxiety but also to explore and tackle the underlying issues causing it. By understanding the root causes, clients are better equipped to develop sustainable coping mechanisms and build resilience. My holistic methodology also incorporates mindfulness practices and lifestyle modifications, offering clients a robust set of tools to manage stress, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, and panic disorders. Together, we create a tailored treatment plan aimed at alleviating symptoms and fundamentally improving overall well-being.
I have a strong clinical interest and experience in working with clients navigating the psychological and emotional challenges related to women’s reproductive health, including PMS, PMDD, perimenopause, menopause, and other hormone-related difficulties. These experiences are often under-recognised or misunderstood, despite the significant impact they can have on emotional wellbeing, identity, relationships, and daily functioning. In my work, I create a compassionate, informed space for clients to explore the ways in which hormonal fluctuations and reproductive health concerns may influence their mood, cognition, energy levels, and sense of self. Whether supporting someone through the intense mood shifts of PMDD, the gradual but often destabilising changes of menopause, or the broader psychological effects of chronic reproductive health conditions, my approach is both validating and practical. I integrate psychoeducation, emotion regulation strategies, trauma-informed care, and psychodynamic insight to help clients better understand the cyclical or persistent nature of their symptoms, and how these interact with broader aspects of their lives. My aim is to help clients reconnect with their bodies in a respectful and empowering way, and to support them in developing coping strategies that are grounded in self-awareness and self-compassion.
I specialise in providing comprehensive, compassionate care for individuals dealing with a wide range of trauma-related experiences—whether stemming from acute incidents, complex or developmental trauma, or ongoing relational and systemic stressors. My therapeutic approach is informed by years of experience working with trauma in its many forms and manifestations, which has allowed me to develop a flexible, nuanced understanding of how trauma impacts individuals differently. I work integratively, drawing on a range of evidence-based interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and depth-oriented psychotherapy. These modalities enable me to work both somatically and cognitively, allowing for a holistic approach that supports clients in accessing, processing, and integrating difficult experiences in a safe and structured way. I also incorporate elements of attachment theory, mindfulness, and narrative work, depending on the individual’s needs and preferences. I also bring a specialised focus to relationship issues, recognising that the term ‘relationship’ encompasses a broad and diverse spectrum of human connections—whether between couples, within families, among colleagues, or in polyamorous or non-traditional structures. My therapeutic approach is rooted in systems theory, enabling me to work effectively with the complex, often layered dynamics that emerge within and between individuals in these varied relational contexts. A significant aspect of my practice involves working with neurodivergent individuals and couples, where differences in communication styles, sensory needs, executive functioning, and emotional regulation can impact relational dynamics in nuanced ways. I understand the unique challenges that can arise when one or more partners are neurodivergent—such as navigating differing needs for structure or spontaneity, interpreting social cues, or managing emotional intensity. I also recognise and affirm the strengths and richness that neurodivergent perspectives bring to relationships. Whether addressing marital discord, family tensions, workplace difficulties, or navigating the interplay between neurodivergence and intimacy, my aim is to support clients in developing healthier, more attuned ways of relating. I strive to create a safe, inclusive space where all parties feel heard, respected, and empowered to enact meaningful change. Through a range of evidence-based interventions tailored to each client’s context, I support individuals and relationships not only in resolving conflict but also in cultivating deeper understanding, connection, and resilience.

I also incorporate elements of attachment theory, mindfulness, and narrative work, depending on the individual’s needs and preferences. I recognise that trauma is not a one-size-fits-all experience, and thus, each treatment plan is carefully tailored to the client's unique history, presentation, and goals. For some, this may involve direct trauma processing using EMDR; for others, the focus may initially rest on building internal resources, stabilisation, and fostering a sense of emotional and physical safety before moving toward deeper exploration. Central to my work is the belief that healing from trauma must occur at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of each client’s capacity in the moment. I strive to create a secure, collaborative therapeutic environment in which clients feel heard, validated, and empowered to explore their experiences without fear of judgment or retraumatisation. My aim is not only to reduce symptoms but to help individuals reconnect with a more integrated sense of self, develop meaningful coping strategies, and cultivate the resilience necessary for long-term recovery and growth.
