At one time or another, many of us can experience difficulties in life and feel less able to cope – such moments can be overwhelming, frightening and lonely especially if we are not able to share our innermost feelings and thoughts with family and friends. My approach is centred on the strong belief that each of us has the potential for self-discovery, self-acceptance and growth. My role, as your counsellor, is to support you in this process and to offer you a respectful and warm relationship based on kindness, openness and empathic understanding so that you feel accepted, valued and understood.
Our counselling sessions will be personalised depending on your needs so that we can work together to explore yourself, your emotions, your thoughts and whatever issue(s) you may bring: trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, low mood or just something that is niggling and somehow not yet understood. The process of self-discovery can then happen at a pace and depth to suit you.

As well as my private practice, I have had experience of placements in the NHS and two local charities one of which, until recently, I continued to support as one of their trustees. Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
