Counselling and psychotherapy is your confidential space to talk. You may be seeking clarity on an issue, or want to explore things that are overwhelming you, and if you wish, make changes in your life. I hope that by talking to a professional during these difficult times can bring peace.
You are unique. Sessions are tailored to what you would like to work on in therapy to support your wellbeing. I work by coming alongside you, to understand the parts of you that you seek support with. I offer a safe space as we unravel together the aspects of you that are struggling or stuck. And help you to find new perspectives to deal with living the way that you want to live.
I work in private practice in Edinburgh and in Peebles in the Scottish Borders. I see clients face to face in a therapy room, and also offer ecopsychotherapy (outdoor working in nature). I also offer sessions online.
I have trained for 4 years in Transactional Analysis (TA) counselling and psychotherapy. I am a UKCP registered psychotherapist and hold a diploma in counselling (accredited by COSCA). I am registered with UKATA and a Registered Member of BACP. I am a member of ICO and adhere to the UKATA Code of Ethics. I receive regular clinical supervision to ensure that you receive the best possible support.
I have 20 years experience working with mental health delivering ecotherapy. I have experience of working with both statutory organisations as well as supporting individuals where they need it most. I have worked for charities in Edinburgh that provide low cost and free counselling. I hold a specialism working with trauma and the long lasting effects that it can have on our mental health and wellbeing.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
