My Approach

I work with couples, families, and individuals who may be struggling with low mood, feeling stuck in current situations or struggling with past events. I offer a safe, welcoming, and non-judgemental space where you can slow down, be curious, and explore what’s going on in your life and relationships. You may want to explore conflict dynamics within your couple relationships or with your children. Or you may wish to individually explore situations and events which may be holding you back in life so you can overcome obstacles and navigate life’s complexities.
I offer in a down to earth, collaborative space to understand what changes you want to make, I strive to create a safe, non-judgemental space. My work is rooted in anti-oppressive and anti-racist values. I hold space for the many different ways people make sense of themselves, their families, and their lives — including across culture, identity, and experience.

Alongside systemic approaches I draw on further training I have completed in a wide range of evidenced based approaches such as Internal Family Systems Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFCT), Emotionally Focused Family Therapy (EFFT), Attachment-Based Family Therapy (ABFT) Mindfulness ( MBSR/MBCT) and Non Violent Resistance.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have interest in working with individuals and families navigating current or previous chronic health issues. Navigating these challenges can affect the person living with the condition but also the whole system. Illness can reshape relationships, create new roles and identities and put emotional and financial strain on the family. I can support individuals and families to strengthen connection, adapt to uncertainties and challenges together as well as finding new ways of supporting each other.
As a systemic family therapist I am trained to work with couples who are navigating differences in perspectives and challenges in communication. I have additional training in emotion focused couple therapy which aims to help identify unhelpful repetitive patterns/ cycles, support repairing ruptured relationships and to foster trust.
As a systemic and family therapist I am qualified to work with families, couples and also individuals. I have additional training in emotion focused family therapy to further support my approach. I can work with the family/network in a range of configurations. . I can see the people altogether and/or in separate sessions, to effect change in all the parts of the family and increase understanding and communication between people . I can work with parents around attachment issues, promoting positive parenting strategies, managing behaviours, and responding to your child’s trauma or challenges. I work with adult children and parents also.
As a qualified systemic supervisor I offer individual or group supervision to those clinically qualified, currently in training or anyway practitioner looking for a reflective, contextual relational and supportive lens in their work.
Through a combination of systemic therapy and trauma-informed techniques such as Internal family Systems, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Mindfulness based Approaches we work on the individual experiences of trauma and also its effects on the entire family or system.
