To discuss further or arrange a therapy session, kindly call or email your contact details along with a brief summary of your reason for seeking therapy and I will respond directly. Please be mindful of data protection and be selective about the details you chose to share.
My name is Kamla. I am a UKCP accredited Integrative Psychotherapist specialising in working with Trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Having trained as an Advanced Integrative Psychotherapist at Regent's College in London my approach to therapy is eclectic and draws on different ways of understanding human behaviour.
Since qualifying in 2012, I've worked in a variety of settings which range from NHS palliative care, women's charities, community based addiction projects and mental health charities. I recognise that everyone has a unique way of dealing with life, speaking about trauma and seeking help. It's with this in mind that I have continued to develop and broaden my skills through training to incorporate Trauma and PTSD work, Creative Interventions, Couples Therapy, Intensive Therapy, Attachment Informed Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy - EMDR and Parts Work. I believe that finding the right therapeutic language, tailored to your needs, can help you see life through a fresh lens. Everyone has the capacity to learn and grow from their experiences, together we can work on understanding self and finding more fulfilling ways forward.
I am empathic and compassionate, and believe that a trusting relationship is the key to better understanding yourself. In a confidential space, we can explore the events that have brought you to this juncture, begin to assimilate your thoughts, feelings, emotions and patterns of relating. Often, simply becoming aware of 'Why' we make the choices that we do is enough to begin the process of change in order to make the future easier to navigate.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
