My Approach

As a Family Psychotherapist I am trained to work with individuals, couples and families. I provide support with a range of relational difficulties, but specialise in working with parents where there are considerable parenting challenges. This can include adapting to parenting a child with neurodiversity or physical illness, managing differences in parenting approach, and parental separation.

Family Therapy helps family members to better communicate with one another, thus understanding each other's perspectives, reducing distress and suffering, and more effectively resolving conflict.

About Me

I have supported people experiencing relationship and emotional difficulties for over 15 years. I have specific experience in the fields of adult mental health and addiction, and with neurodivergent children and families. I currently work for an NHS Child & Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in North London, specialising in neuro-developmental conditions (e.g. ADHD and Autism). In addition, I have a small private practice in East London.

I hold Masters qualifications in both Clinical Psychology and Family & Systemic Psychotherapy and am registered with AFT (Association of Systemic & Family Therapy) and the UKCP.

I work with

  • Children and young people
  • Couples
  • Families
  • Individuals

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

As a Family Therapist my primary interest is in working together with families/ those in close relationships to resolve their difficulties. My aim is always to explore the family's strengths and resources in order to support meaningful and long-term change.
I can support both children/ adolescents and adults with a range of emotional difficulties, including low mood and anxiety. My approach is to understand behaviour (e.g. self harm) as a form of communication. Through collaborative therapy, I support families & individuals to uncover the meaning of challenging behaviours in order to develop appropriate and compassionate responses to them.
As a Family Therapist I often work with parents who are struggling to implement boundaries and to have a positive emotional connection with their child(ren). I support parents to explore their own beliefs about the role of a 'parent', child development and behaviour, and how these ideas may differ between parents. I invite parents to reflect on their own childhoods and relationships with their parents/ carers, and how these early experiences may be influencing current relationship patterns.
