I’m an integrative psychotherapist, so I don’t work from one fixed way of understanding people. My approach is influenced by attachment, psychodynamic and relational thinking, Transactional Analysis and other relational approaches.
I’m interested in what has happened to you, how those experiences have shaped you, and how they might still be showing up in your life now. This might be in your relationships, the way you see yourself, how you respond when things feel difficult, or the ways you have learned to protect yourself.
I’m not particularly interested in giving you a list of things to do or trying to change how you think. Instead, we’ll spend time understanding what is happening for you and what might be underneath it. Sometimes that means looking back at earlier experiences; sometimes it means paying attention to what is happening between us in the room.
I work in a trauma-informed and neuro-aware way and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I’ll be curious about your experience and I won’t assume that I already know what something means for you. Therapy is something we work out together, at a pace that allows us to properly explore what you’ve come with.
I’m Jen, an Integrative Psychotherapist working with adults who are finding things difficult, whether that’s anxiety, low mood, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, trauma, low self-worth or experiences that continue to affect them.
Sometimes you can know why you feel the way you do, but that doesn’t necessarily make it feel any easier. You might find yourself repeating the same patterns, struggling to know what you want, putting other people’s needs before your own, or feeling like you’ve lost touch with yourself.
You may be someone who is used to coping and getting on with things, but something has changed and you’re finding that your usual ways of managing aren’t working anymore.
Therapy can give you the opportunity to slow things down and look at what is really going on beneath the surface. We can explore your experiences, relationships and patterns together, and work towards a better understanding of yourself and what you need.
I work with adults in person in Wellington, Telford, and online across the UK.
