Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I approach working with couples from a neutral position seeking not to apportion blame using a range of approaches tailored to the identified reason for wanting change. I am able to support changes to improve the relationship or support separation.
I have integrated EMDR into my practice and have options for on-line and face to face. I was skeptical at first however have found this add on to be most effective in supporting wanted changes when people are in the right place to access it.
Psychotherapy can for some people be amazing in achieving the change we are seeking, we do live all of the time within our relationships, whether that be at home, work, socially, hobbies. Throughout my work as well as supporting the challenges you are facing as an individual I recognise you exist within your relationships and help support integrating changes you are seeking whether that be as a family, couple or individual into your everyday patterns of life.
Being a step parent or related through changes in relationships can be the most privileged position and really tough, where do you support, where do you fit in? How do you navigate the new normal perhaps particularly when the old normal was not ok? My professional and personal experience has led to a particular interest in supporting step families.
I have undertaken 3 years of training in supervision for low intensity CBT therapists and Systemic Psychotherapists. I work in a relational approach to support your supervision needs, I have been fortunate to receive what I consider to be outstanding supervision in various contexts and seek to offer this.
