My Approach

Psychotherapy and Counselling helps you think about your concerns, anxieties and fears in a safe place. Talking to a counsellor can help you clarify what you want from life, improve your relationships, take responsibility and regain control; learning to live, risk, love, hope and engage more fully with life.

As your therapist/counsellor, I provide a confidential space for us to talk about the aspects of your life that are troubling you. My approach to counselling/therapy is optimistic, positive, supportive, involved and straightforward. We will be looking at what is working and what you can do to resolve your conflicts. My approach is flexible so that the therapy suits the individual personality and needs of the client.

About Me

I am a full-time psychotherapist and counsellor, with over fifteen years experience of working in private practice and within the voluntary sector.

I trained at the Minster Centre as an Integrative counsellor and psychotherapist working with a range of theoretical approaches, including Psychodynamic, Solution Focussed, Motivational Interviewing, Person-Centred, Cognitive Behavioural and Positive Therapy.

I have experience working with adults who have issues relating to adoption, addictions, alcohol, (including adult children of alcoholics), anxiety, bereavement, child sexual abuse, domestic abuse, eating disorders, parenting, phobias, relationships, stress, trauma and work issues.

In addition I work with a number of Employee Assistance Programmes (EAP)providing brief time limited trauma therapy.

I offer short term and long term therapy.

Initial 30 minute sessions are free. During this session we can begin to discuss what is important to you and what you want to gain from therapy.

I am based in Northwood Hills, near to Northwood Hills tube station and can offer day, evening and Saturday morning appointments. My practice is within easy reach of Northwood, Pinner, Uxbridge, Stanmore, Harrow and Hillingdon.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work sensitively with clients at their own pace when discussing issues of abuse. You are in control. Over the years, I have undergone specialist training and have a postgraduate diploma in the Legacy of Child Abuse.
Anxiety in life is unavoidable, but sometimes our anxiety can rule our lives. We will examine what is making your anxious and come up with strategies to help you overcome or manage what is troubling you most. I am trained in CBT techniques that can really help.
Depression can feel all encompassing. You may feel stuck and unable to even think about your situation. Our sessions will help you discover how you are managing right now and how you can improve your situation so you can achieve more from your life.
I have extensive experience of working with victims/survivors of domestic abuse. I will listen to your experience with kindness and understanding and help you make decisions about your future and how you are manging. Your and your family's safety will be at the heart of everything we consider.
I have specialist training in working with Post-Traumatic Stress and Complex Post Traumatic Stress. I work sensitively and at client's own pace to overcome and legacy of all you have experienced.
