My Approach

My approach is relational in nature. I believe talking together about yourself and experiences can lead to insight and therapeutic change. As an integrative counsellor I am influenced by psychodynamic theory and humanistic approaches. I draw on systemic ideas and psychoeducation of attachment and trauma.

About Me

I am a registered psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Norwich city centre. I offer individual therapy sessions in a safe and confidential environment.
Counselling is an opportunity to explore current and past difficulties which may still be impacting on you, without fear of judgement or rejection. Anxiety and depression are often indicators we are struggling to cope with our lives, and we need to make changes. I offer a compassionate, therapeutic space to explore whatever you would like to bring to the sessions. It’s an opportunity to explore thoughts, feelings and emotions which would not feel safe to talk about in relationships with family, friends or work colleagues. It is through the process of talking about thoughts and feelings together that insight arise, and change can begin.
I offer short-term and long-term sessions, depending on what you bring to the sessions and what you would like to gain from them. The first appointment offers an opportunity to discuss this in detail and decide on if this is a commitment you would like to make.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I have worked with young people and adults presenting with a range of eating disorders. We can explore how your feelings are triggered around food and how these behaviours may have begun, including the influence of early relationships.
I have worked with parents, during the perinatal period, who may be struggling with the bond with their babies. The transition to parenthood can be difficult, particularly if you have experienced relational trauma yourself. I support parents to explore how their past experiences may be effecting them in the present in relationship with their child.
