About Me

I have been practising as a movement psychotherapist since 1998, working with people who are struggling with all kinds of personal, emotional and psychological difficulties and life issues.

Central to my way of working is empathic listening, a non-judgemental attitude, compassion, belief in paying attention to the embodied experience and that opening to creativity helps us to access that which has been lost in our personalities and lives. I see myself as walking with you in this process.

I believe and it is also my experience that having a safe, confidential non-judgemental space to talk, to step back from the daily grind and to be actively listened to gives precious time to examine and explore what is hindering you.

I offer movement psychotherapy, where we can make sense of your problems and help you emotionally by focusing on the non-verbal together with the spoken word. This type of therapy can be particularly effective if you struggle to find words to fully express yourself or perhaps when you think that you understand what your problems are and are still having difficulty moving forward.

Movement psychotherapy may seem a scary proposition, in practice we are shining a light on and listening to our bodies and movements as well as our mind. This may mean e.g. that we sit and talk and notice how you are sitting, what is this posture saying or doing for you. It sounds simple and yet you and I can begin to be aware of what you are carrying (embodying) about yourself and your life. Moving the body differently can also help to change patterns of thinking and behaving.

A taster session will help you to decide if this approach is for you and there is no obligation to continue or re-book.
