My Approach

I offer a welcoming, inclusive space that affirms all identities, neurotypes, and ways of being. This is a collaborative journey - we'll uncover your insights together. The space is yours to shape, and I'll stay attuned to what you need - whether that's gentle challenge or reflective exploration as I sit alongside you.

I love working with all ages, and I'm passionate about supporting young adults. I really do understand how confusing, stressful, and emotionally demanding this phase of life can be. A time filled with uncertainty, transitions, and pressure to figure everything out all at once. Together we can start rewriting the story in a way that's actually yours.

I'm trained in three core humanistic approaches: person-centred, transactional analysis, and Gestalt. I also draw from therapeutic traditions when they feel supportive. This means I work in an integrative way, with a flexible and responsive style, adapting to what you need, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.

I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with an MSc in Humanistic Psychotherapy from the Metanoia Institute - a leading specialist institution for the training of psychotherapists, psychologists, and counsellors. I have accumulated a substantial breadth of professional experience, working with a wide-ranging and diverse client base across various therapeutic settings. These include private practice, community-based projects, women’s refuge services, trauma-focused organisations, crisis charities, and the NHS. This has equipped me to engage thoughtfully and sensitively with a broad spectrum of psychological and emotional difficulties.

About Me

Hi, I'm Bella. I'm a qualified relational humanistic psychotherapist, which means my priority is nurturing a genuine, trusting, and safe connection with you. Therapy with me is about creating a space that holds you - real, warm, and human. My work is grounded in values of empathy, attunement, and presence. At its core, I believe the most important thing is that we’re two people meeting and connecting as humans. You’re invited to share your whole self - even the parts you carry shame about. Shame loosens its grip when spoken aloud, so let’s meet what’s been hidden, side by side.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Living with ADHD isn't about being lazy or disorganised - it's about having a brain that works differently. Maybe your mind is always racing, jumping from one thing to the next. Maybe you struggle to focus, start things, finish things, or just keep up with the demands of everyday life. You might feel frustrated, overwhelmed, or like you're constantly falling sort - even though you're trying so hard. With me, you don't have to apologise for how your brain works. Together, we can explore how ADHD shows up for you and untangle any shame that's build up around it. Let's find a way to work with your brain, not against it.
Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background - or sometimes, a full-blown storm. Maybe it's keeping you up at night, making you overthink every little thing, or just making life feel heavier than it should. Therapy with me is a space where you don't have to hold it all together. In our sessions, we can slow things down, get curious together, and gently untangle what's going on underneath the worry. This is a space where you can breathe. Where you are not judged or rushed, but met - human to human - with warmth and authenticity. We'll explore what anxiety means for you, finding a way forward that feels real, grounded, and meaningful.
Depression can make everything feel heavy - even the things that used to bring you joy. It might show up as numbness, hopelessness, exhaustion, or that quiet voice telling you you're not good enough. Maybe you're keeping it all together on the outside, but inside, you're struggling. Or maybe it's hard to even get out of bed some days. In therapy, there's no need to pretend. You don't have to be 'positive' or 'productive' here. We'll meet the depression together - with care, patience, and a deep respect for what you're going through. We'll work gently to understand what your mind and body might be trying to tell you, and find ways to bring lightness, connection, and meaning back into your life - even in small steps.
Trying to figure out who you are can feel overwhelming - especially when you're not sure where you fit. Maybe you're questioning parts of yourself you've always taken for granted. Maybe you feel caught between different roles, expectations, or versions of yourself. Or maybe you've always felt a bit 'other', and you're just tired of trying to make yourself make sense to everyone else. Therapy with me offers a space you can take off the mask and just 'be'. Together, we can explore the questions that feel too big or too complicated to carry alone - about who you are, who you've been, and who you want to become. There's no pressure to have it all figured out. Just room to be curious, to feel supported, and to come home to yourself, one conversation at a time.
Relationships can be beautiful - and really hard. Maybe you're stuck in the same arguments. Maybe you feel disconnected or like you keep losing yourself in relationships. Whether it's with a partner, a friend, a family member, or even the relationship you have with yourself, things can get messy, painful, and confusing. We'll make space to explore what's happening in your relationships with honesty, kindness, and care. We'll look at patterns - old and new - and what you're longing for, what's not working, and what might need healing. Let's create a space together to make sense of your experiences and begin building relationships that feel more connected, meaningful, and true to who you are.
