I work relationally with young children, teenagers and their families to co-develop intervention plans that are client-centred and tailored to their unique needs. I use both directive and child-led approaches, to allow the client to choose their preferred mode of engagement, either through talking, play and/or art therapy, mindfulness or other creative activities. I aim to understand their internalised world which informs our working model. I strive to foster a good working alliance to ensure all-round support, to empower the clients to tap into their inner strength, and to discover how to work through emotional, personal and social challenges that impede their Learning, growth and living a healthy life.
I am a qualified and experienced Integrative Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist. The UKCP code of ethics and professional practice guidelines guide my professional work. My integrative training, work experience and expertise allow me to draw from different modalities, to meet the needs of each individual client. I provide a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where thoughts and feelings can be explored. I am a strong believer that working collaboratively with professionals and parents/carers makes therapy work.
I work with a diverse range of clients in private practice, primary and secondary schools from 2018 to date, supporting them work through social, relational and attachment issues, emotional regulation, depression, anxiety, anger, trauma, loss, low self-esteem, gender dysphoria, and other life challenges.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
