My current practice is underpinned by attachment theory and an attachment-based psychoanalytic approach. I am interested in understanding how our early experiences and relationships can shape our emotional wellbeing, relationships and ways of responding to difficulties in the present.
My journey began as a qualified Social Worker, and I have always been passionate about supporting individuals to understand the roots of their difficulties and, together, find a way forward.
I have over 12 years of experience working across a variety of settings, including charities, local authorities and the NHS. Throughout my career, I have supported individuals and families facing a wide range of challenges and circumstances.
My professional experience has given me the opportunity to develop a deeper understanding of how life experiences and relationships can influence our emotional wellbeing, how we see ourselves and how we relate to others.
My particular areas of interest are trauma and neglect, and the impact these experiences can have on an individual’s emotional wellbeing and relationships, both during childhood and later in life.
I am interested in exploring how experiences from our past can continue to influence the present, including patterns of thoughts, feelings and behaviours that may have developed as ways of coping.
Through psychotherapy, I aim to offer a compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, develop a deeper understanding of yourself and consider what you would like to change moving forward.
I welcome individuals from all backgrounds and am committed to providing a respectful, compassionate and non-judgemental therapeutic space.
I welcome individuals with disabilities and recognise that everyone’s needs and circumstances are different. If you have a disability or accessibility requirement, please feel free to discuss this with me before or during our initial conversation. We can explore what adjustments or support may be helpful to enable you to feel as comfortable and supported as possible within the therapy setting.
