As a systemic psychotherapist, I support individuals, couples, and families to better understand their emotions, relationships, and experiences in order to create meaningful and lasting change. My work involves exploring the challenges people may be facing while also helping them recognise their existing strengths, resilience, and capacity for growth. Alongside reflective therapeutic conversations, I also provide practical support to help you move towards the changes you would like to see in your life.
My approach is tailored to each person, child or family I support, using a range of therapeutic models. I like to develop a human to human relationships and view the people I work with as the experts in their own lives. I see my role as offering a containing and supportive space where you can explore what is meaningful to you. As part of this we can make sense of the challenges you face in the context of your history, relationships, and current circumstances.
An important part of my work involves exploring how early relationships and experiences influence the way we relate to ourselves and others in the present. I believe that a genuine therapeutic relationship — where you feel listened to, understood, and valued — can create the conditions for healing, personal growth, and new ways of experiencing relationships.
My practice is informed by an appreciation of culture, identity, and diversity and I aim to create a therapeutic space where every aspect of your identity feels respected and welcome. We can explore issues related to identity, belonging, and the impact of intergenerational experiences.
If you are considering therapy with me, we can speak on the telephone about how I may be able to support you and there is no charge for this. This also gives you a chance to get a sense of me and my approach before deciding whether to begin therapy together.
My fees are as follows:
Family sessions: £120
Couples sessions: £100
Individual sessions: £70
We can see each other weekly or fortnightly if this feels more manageable.
I’m Helen Wczasek, a Systemic and Family Psychotherapist working with couples and families from a range of backgrounds and needs.
I have worked within a range of settings supporting children, young people, couples and families including child and adolescent mental health services, community services, and specialist mental health teams. My experience includes working with trauma, neurodivergence, complex emotional needs, eating disorders and psychotic spectrum conditions. In addition to my private practice, I currently run a family and relationship support service for adults managing these issues within the NHS.
I can offer support with a range of emotional and relational needs in order to help couples and families make meaningful change within their lives. I offer a warm, and collaborative environment where you can explore yourself and your relationships in a way that feels supportive and empowering.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
