I have been trained in a range of different theories and take an integrative approach in my practice. This means that I am able to draw upon a range of theories depending on what I feel would benefit each individual client. This flexible way of working acknowledges that we’re all different. The main theories I integrate in my practice are: psychoanalytic theories, specifically Object Relations, Intersubjectivity theory and Attachment Theory, as well as Transactional Analysis and Interpersonal Neurobiology. In my couples therapy practice, I also integrate Relational Life Therapy and Imago therapy.
Crucially, my approach is relational: along with the issues you bring to explore in therapy, I’m interested in, and pay attention to, the relationship between us and the way you relate to yourself. This provides valuable insight, often making us aware of unconscious patterns of thinking and behaviour so they can be understood and challenged.
I am an integrative, relational psychotherapist. I run a private practice in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
