Experience has proved to me that a holistic approach to therapy is vital to healing, growth and change. Gradually you and I work towards heightened understanding and awareness of how you live and relate to others in terms of your emotional, cognitive, bodily, social and 'spiritual' needs. I aim to provide a safe and respectful space for you and I to explore difficult feelings about how present or past relationships, break-ups, grief, or trauma, may be affecting you day to day. I support and guide you in a creative process in which you can find new perspectives on your situation and your self. New insight into your feelings, thoughts, wants or needs, can in itself bring about change. As our work progresses your enhanced awareness will help identify patterns of response which you may wish to abandon giving you different choices going forward. This awareness promotes renewed energy, influences you motivation and supports recovery.
It is important that you and I are comfortable working together and you feel we are a good match. I consider the therapist/client relationship as an essential constituent to the healing process and change. Hence I offer a 15 minutes phone call free of charge for you to ask questions about me or my practice before arranging an initial assessment session.
Humanistic, integrated and gestalt psychotherapy are at the heart and focus of my practice with clients. In the past as a veteran in the international arena of executive coaching my work builds on encouraging and developing individual potential and growth. My subsequent practice was in the NHS, then private practice as a member of a cabinet of international therapists outside the UK and most recently, working as part of Age UK Counselling team in Camden.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
