About Me

I have a special interest in working with mental health and wellbeing. I have over 30 years experience of working in the NHS, Social Care, Charity and private sector. My goal is to help and support you if you’re experiencing stress, distress, emotional pain or trauma or other issues in relationships, career, retirement, health etc. Having experienced numerous changes in my own life, I am able to relate more easily. I offer an approach that is tried and tested. My style, is open, warm, relaxed and non-judgemental. My goal is to help facilitate change and support you.

My style of therapy, considers you as a whole person. I try to understand your physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual self, as well as your environment and the relationships around you. I aim to gain clarity on what might be causing your issues and to find solutions with you to address these. I don't just focus on you and the problem, but I am also looking at how your experiences might be affecting relationships around you, or vice-versa.

How I work is relational, holistically and collaboratively. I draw on Psychology, Systemic Psychotherapy, Coaching, and Intuition, recognising that we all exist within wider systems, such as family, culture, work, and society. While everyone has struggles, ongoing or overwhelming difficulties can leave you feeling stuck or depleted. Therapy or coaching can offer a place to pause, make sense of what’s happening, and find a way forward with greater clarity and resilience.

I am the author of “Bringing Your Heart to Work: A Seven-Step Journey to Mental Health and Wellbeing”, which shares the Seven-Step model I developed in my practice. This was one of the first books selected for publishing through the Psychotherapy Matters Series in collaboration with the UKCP and Karnac Publishes. The book invites people to pause, reconnect with who they are, clarify their values, and move forward with greater intention.

This approach underpins my work whether I’m supporting someone in therapy, coaching a leader, or working with an organisation seeking cultural change I’m delighted that the book has reached the publisher’s bestseller list 3 times! I also founded and host a Podcast called Healing E-motions, which has been going now for 7 years. I have regularly contributed to media features on mental health as well as leadership topics.
