I am an Integrative Humanistic Psychotherapist and Psychotherapeutic Counsellor.
My framework includes humanistic, trauma and attachment theories, but most importantly, my approach is collaborative, human and compassionate. I take what is called a relational stance, which means that our therapeutic relationship is very important to me, as I see it as the agent for change and healing. Building a sense of safety and trust is always the first step to this.
My wealth of experience lies in grief, loss and trauma, with specialisms in ill-health and pregnancy complications.
I have worked within the NHS at The Royal Marsden Hospital support patients with cancer in navigating their diagnosis, treatment and recovery. I have found this work rewarding, challenging and deeply life affirming.
My work with pregnancy complications includes supporting people experiencing infertility, miscarriage and termination for medical reasons (TFMR). I host a podcast called Time To Talk TFMR raising awareness, providing support and information to woman/couples and healthcare professionals. I feel very proud to have been able to offer this resource to others experiencing this very complex and nuanced loss.
We often think of grief as being something that occurs when someone we love dies. In truth, it can happen whenever a relationship or something important to us ends. My experience, both personally and professionally, is that we rarely recognise this as grief which then means we don't allow ourselves the space and time to process our loss. This can build up leaving us to feel isolated, lonely, and even anxious and/or depressed.
Whether you are recently bereaved, or it happened years ago and you just don't feel at ease in yourself - I can help.
Whether you have lived with chronic illness for many years, or whether you are newly diagnosed - I can help.
If you had a dream for your future that is now looking uncertain, or completely rewritten - I can help.
I work in-person from rooms in Surbiton, Surrey, which are easily accessible from Kingston-upon-Thames, Twickenham, Teddington, Thames Ditton, Hampton Court, East Molesey. I also work online for those further afield, or who have accessibility/disability considerations.
My session rate is between £80-90, and sessions last 50-minutes. I offer a free 15-minute call (or online if you are hearing impaired) to discuss what is bringing you to therapy now, and whether I am the right fit for you.
I look forward to speaking with you and learning how I can support you.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
