- I aim to make all members of a family feel listened to and understood, by myself and each other.
-I try to understand how past experiences of all family members, including past generations of the family, have made you the way you are and impact on how you feel and behave in the present.
-I work with families to reduce blame and build on the strengths of connection, shared experience and love that sometimes get lost when times are challenging
-I am transparent about my thinking, willing to be challenged about my ideas and to gently challenge family members in order to effect positive change.
-I actively liaise with wider systems (education/social care/voluntary sector) to share my ideas and access support for the young person and family
-I celebrate the ideas and experience that diversity can bring, while acknowledging the challenges that accompany each individuals experience

I have been working in the NHS with families, children and young people for over 30 years and am currently the Principal Family and Systemic Psychotherapist in an NHS Trust. I work with young people and families with mental health difficulites, neurodiversity, anxiety, behavioural and emotional difficulties.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
