The modality of therapy I offer is psychoanalytic: this means that the problems brought to the sessions are not treated only as a cause of suffering but also as a source of knowledge useful to bring about change. Psychoanalytic psychotherapy aims to go deep into your emotions, understanding how your early life has formed strategies that might contribute to unhelpful patterns in adulthood with the aim of gradually removing distress, helping you to live a fuller life.
I am a psychoanalyst and psychoanalytic psychotherapist practising in London on Wednesdays and from my home in Royston the rest of the week. My goal is to provide you with a safe, confidential, non-judgemental space in which you can open up and talk freely about what's on your mind. I offer sessions face to face or online, in English and French. My background is in education. I have been helping people in the charity sector for many years. I was an in-house therapist at the Psychosis Project and I have been an honorary therapist at the Guild of Psychotherapist's low fee clinic for over 6 years.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
