Georgina works holistically, so discussions about health and wellbeing are part of her approach. Her training is Existential and Person Centred; rather than seeing people in terms of symptoms or diagnosis, her approach centres around how we see the world and our individual experiences of it. Our relationship to those around us and our circumstances are affected by the meanings and values we hold , which affect how we are able to live.
Georgina has a range of expertise having worked for several charities such as Macmillan Jersey, Brighter Futures, Brook Jersey, Victim Support & Rape Crisis, Jersey Focus on Mental Health, Rethink severe mental illness, and Hereford & Worcester Lesbian & Gay Switchboard.
These roles have built a solid foundation in understanding the complexity of human experience, the experience of mental illness, managing sexual health, the experience of abuse, dealing with cancer, the experience of loss and, of course, resilience. Georgina has held a private practice since 2008 and holds memberships with the British Psychological Society, the UK Council for Psychotherapy, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, and the Society for Existential Analysis. She has a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology, a Degree in Psychology and an Advanced Diploma in Counselling.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
