Integrative psychotherapy training is a rigorous, six year process in which students learn a number of evidence-backed modalities. As a relational therapist, I am interested in understanding the relationship you have with yourself as well as the relationships you have with those around you. I marry existentialist thought with relational psychoanalytic and psychodynamics, with a Gestalt sensibility.
I help people who are struggling and perhaps wondering ‘am I normal?’ and ‘is this all there is?’ to feel better. You may be experiencing anxiety in relationships, feeling confused about a recent loss, reeling from trauma(s) - I am here to help.
Like all ethical practitioners, I have been a therapy client myself. I know what it is like to sit in that chair; the frustrations and the 'ah ha!' moments. Clients tell me I’m ‘authentic’ and ‘real’ – I’m here to be me listening to you be all of who you are.
Professional, integrative psychotherapeutic psychotherapy with me, in either Bath and Bristol or online, offers you a confidential space to explore how to create good relationships with yourself and others around you. In the process, you’ll likely find more fulfilment in your life - whatever that looks like for you.
While there is a very human and natural pull toward a “quick fix” when we are feeling low, talking therapy can take time to offer deep, emotional changes. Having said that, people are often surprised at the difference only a few sessions can make – it can feel really good to share with another as you start to tell you story to someone who really wants to listen.
I look forward to hearing from you and meeting you just as you are.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
