My Approach

I am a relational integrative practitioner working with a variety of different models to tailor the work to your specific needs. I am particularly interested in how relationships influence and transform our lives. It is my understanding that early relationships influence our experience of ourselves and the world around us. In turn the therapeutic relationship offers an opportunity to make sense of these dynamics and facilitate change.

About Me

I have worked in mental health settings since 2016. My experience includes working with with adults and young people who have experienced a variety mental distress presentations including depression, anxiety, eating disorders, self harm, domestic abuse, sexual trauma, relationship difficulties, identity struggles, and stress. I am trained in psychodynamic, humanistic, and CBT modalities.

Taking a first step to starting therapy can be daunting. I appreciate that it can be difficult to talk about painful issues and experiences affecting you. I aim to provide a safe and containing therapeutic space where you can begin to explore and make sense of the things that may have been troubling you.

I recently finished all taught and professional components of my Doctorate in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy, with just my viva outstanding.

As a member of BPS and UKCP, I work within their ethical framework. I am also professionally supervised by a UKCP registered supervisor.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Since 2016 I have worked in services that specialize in supporting clients in their recovery from eating disorders. Whilst I take an integrative approach to treatment, I also have trained in CBT-E. I continue to work outside of my private practice at one of these services, where I also work with teenagers and young people who are struggling with their relationship to food and their bodies.
Since 2016 I have worked in private services and charities that specialize in supporting adults and young people with a wide range of mental health presentations including anxiety, depression, self-harm, trauma, domestic violence, sexual abuse, emotionally unstable personality disorder (EUPD), eating disorders, neuro-divergence, obsessive compulsive disorder, relationship and identity struggles and changes.
I believe relationships to be at the heart of all human experience. It is through relationships that we come to understand ourselves, others, and the world around us. Our relationships are therefore intrinsically linked to our sense of self, our experience of being in the world, and our distress. This belief also informs my approach to therapy, as it is our therapeutic relationship that can be one of the most power tools to help you begin to experience the changes that bought you to therapy.
I believe that our sense of sexuality can be a deeply personal and important part of who we are. It can shape how we see ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we experience the world around us. At times, questions or difficulties around sexuality can feel confusing, isolating, or distressing. In therapy, I offer a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your experiences at your own pace, helping you to make sense of what you’re feeling and find greater understanding, acceptance, and confidence in yourself.
For two years during my training I worked at a charity offering clients specialist trauma informed therapy to survivors of sexual abuse and domestic violence.
