I am a registered psychotherapist with over 20 years’ experience of working in both private practice and in the NHS. I work with adults of all ages who come with a wide range of emotional and mental health difficulties. These difficulties can frequently affect personal relationships, their work and inevitably the way they feel about themselves. Sometimes it can be difficult to identify a specific problem but there is a sense of something not feeling right. Others do know what is wrong but find they keep repeating the same unhelpful patterns despite their best intentions.
I provide a confidential space in which to explore these problems and so gain a greater understanding of the underlying causes which can provide a sense of relief, enable changes to take place and find more satisfying ways to live life.
The first meeting will be an opportunity to tell me about yourself, to discuss what has brought you to seek therapy and to ask any questions you may have. We can also get an idea of the way we might work together and what will be helpful for you going forward. I generally see people at least once a week; it is usually helpful to meet more frequently, and this can be discussed in the initial consultation.
My consulting room is in central Chelmsford.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
