My Approach

My training is integrative, which means I draw knowledge from many different theorists. My practice is based on humanistic principles, which means your needs as the client will always be held centrally to our work together. I am here to listen to and support you, but also to facilitate self knowledge and understanding. As your therapist, I am not here to tell you what to do, but assist you on your journey to self-knowledge.

About Me

After working in the TV industry for 20 years, I changed my direction and trained to be a psychotherapist so I could help people facing challenging times. I have been seeing clients in my private practice both online and in Bristol for the last 7 years. I am a fully qualified psychotherapist with an MA in psychotherapy, and I have greatly benefitted from many years of training, personal reflection and clinical experience. Because of this I have developed the skills and insight needed to work thoughtfully and effectively with others. I am a member of the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC), and I am registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and I work within BCPC and UKCP ethical guidelines.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

As your psychotherapist, I can help you gently navigate the pain of grief by offering a safe, steady space where all feelings are welcome. Together, we can explore your loss at a pace that feels right for you, making room for the sadness and confusion that can arise. Through compassionate listening and an integrative, humanistic approach, I’ll support you in understanding your unique experience of grief and what it means in the context of your life. My role is not to push you forward, but to walk alongside you, helping you find moments of clarity, resilience, and connection as you heal.
As your psychotherapist, I can support you in understanding and healing the complex emotional roots of an eating disorder. Together, we create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you can explore the thoughts, feelings, and experiences that shape your relationship with food and your body. My integrative, humanistic approach focuses on helping you reconnect with your needs, build emotional resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping with distress. We’ll work gently to challenge unhelpful patterns, strengthen self-worth, and foster a more compassionate inner voice. You won’t face this alone — I’ll walk with you as you move toward balance, recovery, and a more peaceful relationship with yourself.
As your psychotherapist, I can help you navigate the deeply complex and often painful ways family dynamics shape your emotional world. Families can profoundly influence how you see yourself, relate to others and respond to stress. Together, we can gently unpack patterns that may feel confusing, overwhelming, or limiting, exploring both past experiences and their impact on your present life. In a safe, supportive space, we’ll look at boundaries, unmet needs, and inherited roles, helping you gain clarity and confidence in your own voice. My aim is to support you in understanding these influences so you can move toward greater autonomy, balance, and emotional wellbeing.
As your psychotherapist, I can support you just as effectively online as I can in person. Through video or voice sessions, you can access therapy from the comfort and privacy of your own space, which often helps you feel more relaxed and open. My integrative, humanistic approach translates seamlessly to the online setting, allowing us to build a strong, attuned therapeutic relationship wherever you are. I listen deeply, respond with care, and help you explore what feels most important at your pace. Online therapy offers flexibility, continuity, and connection, making meaningful, transformative support accessible even during life’s most challenging moments.
As your psychotherapist, I can support you in exploring the complexities of relationships, whether you’re longing for a healthy partnership or feel stuck in one that no longer feels right. Together, we can look at the patterns, fears, and hopes that shape how you connect with others, helping you understand what you truly need and deserve. If you’re unsure whether to stay or leave, we’ll create space to explore that uncertainty with honesty and compassion. My aim is to help you build deeper self-trust, recognise your boundaries, and move toward relationships that are nourishing, authentic, and aligned with who you are.
