Modern life moves so fast, it can be overwhelming and hard to know where to begin. Our personal needs can get lost amongst busy jobs, demanding family or complex personal relationships. When our needs are neglected, we can start to experience struggles with mood and mental health. Therapy can be an incredibly valuable space to stop, take time to reflect, and communicate deeply with yourself. In my work, I focus on increasing awareness, and being present in the immediate experience, to derive deeper contact with the self, and others. My integrative approach draws on the most effective aspects of three different modalities: Gestalt, Psychodynamic and CBT. This allows me to take a flexible approach to therapy, according what is needed and preferred by the client. I draw on insights from the past, looking at the influences of early life experiences, while acknowledging the ways that these impact the present experience, driving patterns or behaviours we may feel stuck in, and unable to change. I work relationally, meaning that the therapeutic relationship between me any my clients is central to the process of growth and change. I value the strengths and insights brought by the client into their own work, and see myself as a partner and ally in the process of self-discovery.
