My wish is to provide a safe space to enable people to talk about and make sense of their issues, so that they are able to find new ways of dealing with their feelings to help them manage their difficulties.
My approach is Psychodynamic which is an approach that stresses the importance of the Unconscious and past experiences in determining present behaviour. This approach is derived from Psychoanalysis but usually provides a quicker solution to emotional problems. Change happens when Unconscious patterns of behaviour become conscious through therapy. Talking to someone who listens and offers unbiased feedback helps in becoming self aware and within that we hope to make some sense of how we interact.
I am a qualified and experienced Psychotherapist in private practice. I have experience in working with depression, low self esteem, anxiety, relationship problems, gender and sexuality issues, abuse, eating disorders and mental health problems. I have worked with people from a wide range of ethnic backgrounds.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
