My Approach

I am a qualified CAT Psychotherapist and have over 22 years therapeutic experience.
Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) is a compassionate and collaborative approach that focuses on understanding the ways our past experiences and relationships shape our current patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving. In this relationship focussed and collaborative therapy, we work together to explore how these patterns may be limiting your potential and causing distress. By fostering self-awareness and offering practical tools, CAT empowers you to make positive changes, enhance your relationships, and develop healthier coping strategies. With empathy and understanding, I am here to guide you on this transformative journey towards greater self-understanding, emotional well-being, and personal growth.

About Me

I bring over 23 years of therapeutic experience in NHS to my practice where I've worked with children, adolescents and adults of all ages. With a specialisation in early attachment and developmental trauma, I strive to create a safe and supportive environment for exploring the complexities of your experiences. I understand the profound impact these factors can have on our lives, shaping our relationships, sense of self, and overall well-being.

Relationship difficulties, parental stress, anxiety, and work-based stress are just some of the areas where I bring expertise and experience. By working collaboratively, we can delve into these challenges, unravelling their roots and finding effective strategies to enhance your resilience and facilitate positive change.

My approach is integrative and in addition to CAT, I draw from various therapeutic modalities to tailor our work to your unique needs. I believe in the mind-body connection and value interventions that foster holistic well-being. This means considering not only your thoughts and emotions but also the physical manifestations and the interplay between them.

Convenience and accessibility are important to me. I offer both online and in-person sessions, providing flexibility to accommodate your preferences and circumstances. My practice is based in the tranquil setting of North Yorkshire, where I have created a warm and welcoming space for healing and transformation.

To ensure that we are the right fit, I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation on-line or via telephone. This allows us to connect, discuss your goals, and see if we resonate with one another. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is the foundation for successful therapy, where trust, empathy, and understanding flourish.

Please don't hesitate to reach out and schedule your free consultation. It would be an honour to support you in your therapeutic journey towards experiencing greater self awareness, freedom from patterns that have kept you feeling stuck and inner peace that enable you to live the life you really deserve.
