My Approach

I believe that the relationship we build together is the most powerful tool for change. Because I work relationally, I am an active participant in our sessions. I am not a 'blank slate' who stays silent; I bring my warmth, my observations, and my real self to the room.

We will look at the 'here and now' of your life to understand the patterns that might be holding you back. My approach is holistic; I believe our minds, bodies, and emotions are all deeply connected. Whether we are exploring deep-rooted trauma or navigating a modern workplace transition, my goal is to help you move toward authentic connection and intentional living. I provide an open, warm, and non-judgmental space where we can explore those connections together and find a way forward that feels right for you.

About Me

I am Emma, and I work humanistically and relationally. This means I don't see you as a 'case' to be solved or fixed, but as a whole person with a unique story. I am genuinely curious about how we become who we are and how we navigate the world around us.

In my private practice, I offer both face-to-face and online sessions. I work with people who often feel they are 'doing everything right' but still feel a sense of emptiness, disconnection, overwhelm, or as if something is missing from their lives. Outside of the therapy room, I am a mother and an executive leadership coach, which means I understand the very real pressures of balancing a busy professional life with the complexities of family and personal well-being. I value courage, intentionality, authenticity, and genuine care, and I bring these values into my work every day.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

Living with a neurodivergent mind in a world seemingly built for "neurotypicals" can be exhausting and often leads to deep feelings of shame or "not being enough." I offer a supportive, non-judgmental space to help you understand how your brain works and develop strategies that honour your unique strengths rather than fighting against them.
The end of a relationship is a major life transition that often brings up feelings of shame, a lost sense of identity and fear. I provide a steady, empathetic space to help you process the grief, navigate the upheaval, and begin to rebuild a future that feels hopeful for you.
I have a deep interest in how our early connections shape our adult lives. Often, the patterns we struggle with- like always giving more than we receive or being stuck in cycles of people-pleasing are part of a larger intergenerational story. I help you explore these inherited dynamics and navigate the 'scraps' of difficult relationships, supporting you to break old cycles and find authentic, nourishing connections that are truly your own.
Trauma isn't just about what happened to you; it’s about how those experiences remain held in your nervous system and body today. This can often leave you feeling 'stuck' in a state of constant survival—always on edge, overwhelmed, or perhaps feeling shut down and disconnected. Working holistically and at your own pace, I help you gently release this stored tension. Our goal is to move beyond just surviving the day, helping you feel safe, grounded, and back in control, so you can return to a state of balance and truly begin to live again.
Work is rarely just about the tasks we perform; it is where our deepest relational patterns often play out. I work with professionals navigating the complexities of high-pressure environments—from the weight of imposter syndrome and anxiety to the exhaustion of burnout. Drawing on the idea that our 'work-selves' are deeply connected to our 'relational-selves,' I help you explore the dynamics of toxic environments and the search for meaning in your career. Together, we work on strengthening self-belief and establishing the boundaries needed to protect your well-being, helping you move from a place of survival to one of professional confidence and integrity.
