I use a client centered, trauma informed, relational approach, to work alongside children and young people who are experiencing difficulties, particularly those who might find it hard to engage. This means I work at their pace, creating a safe, authentic and supportive space in which to build a relationship and explore their inner worlds with care and respect.
I am passionate about working collaboratively with children, young people and their family because I value the system around the child in my work (such as family and peers, carers, socials workers and school etc..) and believe in addressing a child or young person’s needs systemically.
My aim in offering consistent and compassionate care is to empower young people to know and understand themselves better – the good parts and the less comfortable parts and offer a therapeutic lens through which to move forward.
Being integratively trained means working flexibly, using the approach best suited to the individual - this could be play, creative arts, sand tray work, or talking.
My practice encompasses working with children aged 4 – 12, teenagers aged 13 – 19, young adults aged 20 – 25, adults 25+ and parents.
I understand how challenging being vulnerable can be and recognise the courage it can take to open up. I offer a non-judgemental, confidential, safe space to reflect and think. I am there to listen and be alongside my clients to explore how they are experiencing life.
I am an Integratively trained Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist with 10 years’ experience of working with children, teenagers / young people and families.
I have a background in youth work and lots of experience working in multidisciplinary teams supporting children and adolescents with complex needs.
Having worked in community, charity and education settings, I am able to take children, young people and families through the assessment process in a culturally sensitive and inclusive way, leading to working together on a deeper emotional level.
I also work with adults, offering short-term, long-term, or open-ended counselling and psychotherapy either online or in person.
