Work with children and young people:
My training is in Educational Psychotherapy with The Caspari Foundation which is a branch of psychotherapy that uses psychoanalytic and psychodynamic theories to help us understand the unconscious processes of the client that could be creating blocks to development and progress. I am highly trained in combining this theory with learning, creative and free expression tasks to enable the healing and therapeutic aspect of the work. I am very interested in understanding how a student relates to learning tasks and teachers. I tend to use an integrative approach very much directed by the clients needs and preferred way of working. This could be through talking, play, drawing or writing.
Work with adults:
Since qualifying I have expanded my practice to working with adults and performers which fits perfectly for the creative approach. Adults tell me that they appreciate knowing that I am trained in working with children because they know they can trust me to be able to work with their childhood traumas. I often turn to Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a supportive theory to help us understand how all the different parts within the individual interact with each other and express themselves.
A reason people decide to stay with me is my ability to weave in alternative approaches where necessary or appropriate. For example meditation or free writing.
I am currently offering psychotherapy both online and face to face in Gravesend.
Fees: In person £70, Online £60 per session
A little about me:
First and foremost, I am a mother. I am Turkish Cypriot and grew up in North London but also have a lot of family South London. I have recently moved to Gravesend where I will now be based. When I was younger I was a dancer but decided to pursue my passion in mental health and psychotherapy instead. I am a keen hiker and enjoy being close to trees or water.
I am currently working at The Royal Academy of Music, a secondary school, a primary school and have my own private practice where I see clients both online and face to face. I have a keen interest in alternative approaches to wellbeing. I recently trained with Sister Stories in running circles for women.
I would say that one of the reasons people decide to work with me is that they appreciate my humanness.
