My Approach

I aim to provide a place where together we can explore your experience, difficulties and feelings, a process which can help you to better understand yourself, to make meaning, and to find ways in which to live better.

My training included a wide variety of approaches, with a special focus on existential psychotherapy. This is an approach which considers how we live, how we relate to one another and what it means to be human, all of which are often a source of anxiety.

Sessions are typically weekly at the same time each week (although I can offer some flexibility around work schedules) and are 50 minutes long.

I offer a free initial consultation over Zoom of up to 30 minutes. You will have the opportunity to tell me a bit about yourself and why you are seeking therapy, and to ask me questions about how we might work together.

About Me

Hello, my name is Liz and my pronouns are she/her.

My training included a wide variety of approaches, with a special focus on existential psychotherapy. This is an approach which considers how we live, how we relate to one another and what it means to be human, all of which are often a source of anxiety.

My experience includes working with anxiety, depression, difficulties arising from neurodiversity, issues of identity, family trauma, feelings of self-hate, compulsive behaviours, grief, loss, bereavement, relationship breakdown, abuse, and suicidal thoughts. Often, clients feel that they are, in some way, at odds with the world, and feel troubled by this.

I am passionate about providing access to affirmative therapy for trans and gender non-conforming folk and provide an LGBTQ+ safe space. I especially welcome enquiries about concessionary spaces from members of the trans and gender non-conforming community. I strongly oppose the April 2025 UK Supreme Court ruling on biological sex and am a member of Therapists Against Conversion Therapy and Transphobia.

I have a special interest in working with individuals who are facing challenges in living as a neurodiverse person in a neurotypical world.

As well as having worked as a therapist within general counselling services, I have worked as a volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Care and Maytree Respite Care for people in suicidal crisis.

Prior to becoming a therapist, I had a long corporate career in a professional services firm, including experience of working in the City, and I understand first-hand the pressures that such a life often holds.

As well as being an accredited member of the UKCP, I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).

I work in person in Chichester and online on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. I have access to a wheelchair accessible space in Chichester.
