My Approach

I'm a UKCP Accredited Psychotherapist who offers short, medium and long term psychotherapy and counselling for adults, both online and in-person. My therapy room is easily accessible by tram and bus with a car-park nearby. It is situated in the Chilwell/Beeston area, with separate private access around the back. Sessions are usually held weekly and last 50 minutes.

Life can often be difficult and hard, and we find ourselves in pain or stuck. Whether you are dreading getting out of bed in the morning, struggling with the relationships you are in or feeling unsettled and anxious, counselling and psychotherapy can be a great place to explore these areas of your life, in a confidential, safe and supportively challenging space. There is real potential for healing, personal learning and growth.

Do you need support with the struggles of life?

Maybe you're struggling to get up in the morning to face the day, you're feeling stressed, anxious or depressed. Or perhaps your relationships aren't where you want them to be. Life can often be difficult and we find ourselves in pain, stuck or overwhelmed and unsure what to do.

How can I help?

I offer you a confidential and non-judgemental space for you to talk about what's going on in your life. We can work together to build a trusting relationship, to make sense of your thoughts, feelings and experiences. I will offer you acceptance, empathy and warmth and provide the right space for you to work through your struggles and support you to make the right choices for you. Ultimately with the aim to help you heal and find your more fulfilling way of life.

My First Session

Finding the right therapist that ‘fits’ for you is hugely important - someone you can open up to and trust - so I invite you to a free and confidential phone call, lasting up to 30 minutes where we can discuss the possibility of working together. The next step would be an initial session.
You can contact me using the telephone and email provided on this page. If you’re interested in more information about me and how I work then see below.

About Me

I am a qualified Person-centred Psychotherapist (MSc) and registered member of the BACP. My psychotherapy training was a 4 year degree, with 6 years attending my own therapy and working with clients throughout. I offer a relational therapy built on trust and compassion where together we can curiously and non-judgmentally explore your experiences at your own pace. Together we can sort through, and understand different areas of your life, so you can develop insight and knowledge to better deal with the difficulties that life throws at us. Whether that’s finding better ways of coping when you are overwhelmed or anxious, practising using boundaries so you can navigate your relationships better, or allowing time to process memories and past experiences so they don’t intrude and derail your day, or the many shades in-between.

I can work creatively, often using metaphors, story and images to give expression to the parts of you that might not yet have words. Creativity is something I believe we all have to some degree and I encourage the use of creative materials (if that suits you) whether that’s pens and pencils, collage, pictures and objects or writing, poetry and narratives.

I have worked as a counsellor at Nottingham Women's Centre where I supported wonderful women who face multiple disadvantages and have survived trauma of various kinds. I also volunteered at the University of Sheffield's counselling service, working with students.

Please do email or telephone for a further chat about how sessions could work for you.
