My Approach

Therapy with me is a collaborative, relational process, which means we create it together. My focus is on building a space where you can feel safe enough to be curious about the parts of yourself that may feel lost, confused, hurt, defended, ashamed, or stuck.

You don’t need a diagnosis or a fixed goal to begin therapy. We can start where you are and move at your pace.

I especially welcome clients who’ve felt misunderstood or marginalised in other systems, whether through misdiagnosis, institutional harm, or being labelled rather than understood.

My work is informed by both my training and my own lived experiences, and I aim to hold space that is inclusive, trauma-aware, and neurodiversity-affirming. might be coming to therapy feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, or stuck in patterns that no longer serve you. Or perhaps something specific has happened, like a loss, a rupture, or a life change that’s left you unsure how to move forward.

Some of the themes I work with include:
• Addiction and recovery (alcohol, drugs, food, sex, or other compulsions)
• Relational trauma and attachment wounding
• Low self-worth, shame, or inner criticism
• Emotional intensity or feeling “too much”
• Anxiety, dissociation, or feeling disconnected
• Difficulty trusting or feeling safe in relationships
• Neurodivergence (late-diagnosed autism, ADHD, sensory sensitivity, masking, burnout)
• Identity exploration, gender fluidity, or LGBTQ+ experiences
• Grief, loss, or life transitions

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I work with a deep appreciation for the many different paths people take in recovery. I’m personally familiar with both 12-step recovery and more trauma-informed, integrative approaches, and I hold a particular interest in the links between addiction, attachment, and the ways we learn to cope with overwhelming experience. In our work together, my focus is not on directing you toward a single model, but on supporting you to find your own way out of the pain of addiction and towards a life that feels safer, more connected and fulfilling.
My approach to working with ADHD, Autism and Dyslexia - whether diagnosed or self-identified- is to support you in understanding your own neurotype with compassion and clarity, to create space for your strengths as well as your struggles, and to help you move towards a way of living that feels more sustainable, self-honouring, and true to who you are. Many people come to therapy feeling “too much,” “not enough,” or somehow out of step with the demands placed on them. Together, we look at how these experiences connect to attachment, masking, shame, and the deep human need to belong.
I’m interested in the meanings beneath anxiety: what it’s protecting, what it’s pointing to, and what it might be trying to tell you about your relationships, your history, and the way you’ve had to navigate the world. Through a steady, co-regulating presence, we explore your patterns of overwhelm with compassion rather than judgement, helping your system feel safer and more met.
Bereavement can shake the foundations of who we are, our roles, our relationships, and our sense of meaning. It can leave us moving through the world in ways we don’t always recognise. I offer a steady, compassionate presence as you navigate both what has changed and what remains. My aim is to support you in finding your own rhythm of grieving, to help you feel less alone with what you’re carrying, and to gently move with you as you begin to make meaning, reconnect with yourself, and learn how to walk forward while still honouring what you’ve lost.
I offer a relational and existential approach for exploring identity in all its complexity. Many people come to therapy at moments when the old ways of knowing themselves no longer fit, or when they feel pulled between different versions of who they’ve been and who they’re becoming. My work draws on the intersections of gender, neurodivergence, class, culture, and attachment, but also on the deeper questions beneath them: Who am I? What do I stand for? How do I live a life that feels true?
