About Me

Hello, I’m Dom, accredited clinical psychotherapist. I hold an Advanced Diploma in Hypno-Psychotherapy and a Diploma in Solution-Focused Hypnotherapy. I am also a certified mindfulness teacher and hold a Certificate in Eye Movement Reprocessing (EMR) for trauma, while continuing my professional training towards EMDR practice.

I work with neurodivergent adults, particularly those with ADHD or ADHD-related traits, whether formally diagnosed or beginning to explore their experiences. I also support adults living with the effects of trauma and complex PTSD, anxiety and depression.

Perhaps your mind rarely slows down, you feel overwhelmed by everyday demands, or you find yourself caught in patterns that you understand but cannot seem to change. You may appear capable on the outside while privately struggling with self-doubt, difficult emotions, procrastination or an exhausting inner critic. Past experiences may continue to affect how safe you feel, how you relate to others or how you see yourself.

I offer a warm, thoughtful and non-judgemental space where we can make sense of what is happening and what you need. I will meet you as an individual rather than as a diagnosis or collection of symptoms.

Together, we can work towards greater clarity, emotional balance and confidence, helping you feel more able to make choices rather than being driven by old patterns or automatic reactions.

My Approach

I believe therapy should adapt to you, rather than asking you to fit a standard way of working. My approach is neurodiversity-affirming and trauma-informed, which means taking account of how you process information, experience emotions and manage attention or organisation, while recognising your individual strengths and needs. We will begin by exploring what has brought you to therapy, what you would like to change and what feels most helpful and manageable for you.

Our sessions may include talking through current difficulties, exploring how earlier experiences continue to affect you, learning practical ways to manage emotions or attention, and gently processing difficult memories. Depending on your needs, I may draw on somatic approaches, clinical hypnosis, guided eye-movement methods, practical psychological strategies and work with different parts of the self.

I work collaboratively, so I will explain what I am suggesting and we will decide together how to proceed. When working with trauma, we will move at a pace that feels safe. I will not push you to revisit painful experiences before you feel ready; sometimes our first task is to help you feel steadier and more supported in the present.

I see many difficult patterns not as personal failings, but as ways you learned to cope, adapt or protect yourself. Therapy gives us an opportunity to understand these patterns with compassion and gradually develop different ways of responding.

FEES:
Sessions are £85 for 60 minutes. A block of six sessions is available for £475. I also offer a free 30-minute online assessment, giving us an opportunity to briefly discuss what brings you to therapy and whether I may be the right therapist for you.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

ADHD can affect much more than concentration. You may struggle with organisation, procrastination, motivation, emotional overwhelm, low confidence and self-esteem or the sense that you are not fulfilling your potential. We will explore how ADHD works for you and identify strategies that suit your mind and circumstances. I combine practical strategies and support with somatic/body-based regulation and clinical hypnosis to strengthen attention, emotional regulation and executive skills such as planning, starting tasks and following through. We may also work with shame, masking and the impact of years of feeling misunderstood.
Anxiety can appear as constant worry, overthinking, panic, physical tension, repeated checking or a strong need to control what might happen. We will explore your triggers and the patterns that keep the anxiety going. Talking therapy can help us understand the fears and beliefs beneath it, while somatic and body-based approaches can help settle the nervous system. I may also use clinical hypnosis to rehearse calmer responses and help you develop greater confidence in managing uncertainty, rather than organising your life around avoiding it.
Depression does not always feel like sadness. It may leave you feeling numb, exhausted, disconnected or unable to find motivation and meaning. We will explore what may be contributing to these feelings, including loss, relationships, self-criticism and important emotional needs that have gone unmet. I combine talking therapy with clinical hypnosis, practical solution-focused interventions and work with different parts of the self. Together, we can begin rebuilding connection, purpose and agency through compassionate exploration and small, achievable changes.
Following an overwhelming experience, your mind and body may continue to respond as though the danger is still present. You might experience intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, heightened alertness, numbness or disconnection. We begin with grounding and body-based methods to help you manage these responses and feel safer in the present. When you are ready, hypnosis and eye-movement reprocessing can help the brain process what happened, so that the memory feels more clearly located in the past. This work is always collaborative and carefully paced.
Trauma is not always the result of one dramatic event. It can also develop through repeated experiences of fear, instability, rejection, neglect or not feeling emotionally safe. We begin by understanding how these experiences continue to affect your thoughts, relationships and body. I use talking therapy alongside grounding, mindfulness and body-based approaches to help you feel safer and more regulated. When appropriate, we may use hypnosis and eye-movement reprocessing methods to process difficult memories carefully, without overwhelming you.
