About Me

Hello and welcome!

I am a relationship therapist, a qualified Systemic Psychotherapist and Family & Couple Psychotherapist accredited by the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) and the Association of Family and Systemic Psychotherapy (AFSP), with over 20 years experience of working with relationship difficulties in the NHS (London and Cornwall) and independently.

I offer therapeutic support to adults, couples, parents and families.

I am trained to work with people of all ages and abilities with a wide variety of challenges using evidence-based techniques in a group setting or individually.

I am passionate about creating space to explore and resolve relationship conflict. My approach has been described as warm, personable and focused. My practice is inclusive, culturally sensitive, LGBTQIA+ affirming, and neuro-affirmative.

I have extensive experience of working in Child and Adolescent Mental Heath Services (CAMHS) as well as other public sector and charitable organisations and schools with children, young people, parents, couples and families facing communication problems or breakdown.

Theses challenges can result from life transitions: separation, divorce, step-family life, relocation, migration, loss of employment, bereavement, illness, accidents or trauma and impact mental health (anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm).

I also offer support to parents wishing to explore parenting dilemmas, therapeutic parenting and emotional attunement.

In order to do this I draw on:

-Systemic Family Therapy
-Narrative Therapy
-Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
-Mindfulness
-Neurosciences
-Attachment theory.

My aim is always to provide a safe and confidential space in which my clients feel able to talk openly about their difficulties and consider new ways of addressing them. I endeavour to work collaboratively with them to find the approach that suits them best.

Getting on together, communicating and understanding each other as a family or couple can be difficult and sometimes coming to see a trained professional to talk, together or separately, really helps.

Family Therapy, also called systemic therapy, helps people in close relationship help each other. It enables family members to express and explore difficult thoughts and emotions safely, to understand each other’s experiences and views, appreciate each other’s needs, build on family strengths and make useful changes in their relationships and their lives.

Different combinations of family members can be seen separately as well as together to ensure that everyone can be heard and talk through what is on their mind before ideally coming back together.

If meeting with other family members or a partner/spouse is not possible or not what you are looking for, I also work with individuals who wish to explore relationship difficulties and their own wishes and desires from a systemic perspective.
