My Approach

My approach is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own experience. Rather than assuming I know what is best for you or telling you what to do, I aim to understand your world from your perspective and create a confidential, non-judgemental space where you can explore yourself and your options at your own pace.

Therapy with me is collaborative and led by what feels important to you. We might explore your emotions, relationships, past experiences, patterns or the ways you have learned to cope. I am also interested in the wider context of your life and recognise that our wellbeing can be shaped by culture, identity, family, relationships and social circumstances.

While my practice is rooted in person-centred therapy, where needed, we can collaboratively explore creative exercises or ideas informed by my wider training, including Therapeutic Arts, DBT and ACT, without imposing a particular way of working or moving away from your autonomy.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, particularly if facing certain parts of yourself feels scary or uncomfortable. I generally recommend beginning with a minimum of 12 sessions, as this allows time for a therapeutic relationship to develop and for us to explore what has brought you to therapy with greater depth. We can review our work together as we go and discuss what feels most helpful for you.

I offer sessions in English, Urdu and Hindi.

About Me

I am a UKCP registered Person-Centred Psychotherapist with an MSc in Contemporary Person-Centred Psychotherapy and over 500 hours of supervised clinical experience across private practice and community settings. I also hold a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Arts, with training informed by Gestalt and Transactional Analysis approaches.

I have worked with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, abuse, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, burnout, perfectionism and feeling overwhelmed or stuck.

My experience includes working with young adults going through life transitions, refugees and migrants, and people who have experienced gender-based violence or discrimination. I particularly welcome clients who may be navigating different aspects of their identity, culture, relationships or family expectations, and those who have previously struggled to feel understood within traditional mental health services.

Alongside my clinical work, I have extensive experience within the mental health and voluntary sectors, including being on Trustee Boards, facilitating peer support groups and organising wellbeing events. These experiences have strengthened my commitment to making therapy feel accessible, human and responsive to the individual sitting in front of me.
