My style is collaborative and active. We will work together to identify unhelpful thought patterns and behavioral loops, while building on your existing strengths to foster resilience. My approach goes beyond surface-level symptoms and diagnosis to address underlying patterns and conflicts. Together, we will examine early experiences, relationship dynamics and the influence of social context to facilitate profound, lasting structural change.
I specialise in working with couples and family conflict by combining practical coping strategies with an understanding of your wider social network.
I am a UKCP-registered Integrative Psychotherapist offering compassionate, confidential therapy for adults experiencing struggles due to life events, stress and relationship difficulties. I can work with couples, families or with people on an individual basis. My practice is built on the belief that a safe, non-judgmental relationship is the key to personal growth, meaningful change, wider understanding and emotional healing.
Accredited in Couple, Family, Systemic, Psychodynamic Movement and Mentalization Based Psychotherapy, I specialise in helping people uncover the root causes of emotional distress and repeating life patterns. If you feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, I provide a secure space to explore how your context and your past influences your present in providing evidence-based psychotherapy in a format that suits you.
I have worked in the NHS for over 40 years, starting as a general Nurse and most recently adding the Couple and Family Systemic Psychotherapy qualification after an intensive 4 year training at the Institute of Family Therapy, attaining Masters in Science level . I have a great deal of experience with a wide range of people with varying needs and from differing situations.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
