About Me

I am currently offering Face to Face, online and telephone appts.

Thank you for taking the time to look at my profile. I am a highly experienced Psychotherapist, Hypnotherapist, EMDR Psychotherapist, Clinical Supervisor and Mindfulness practitioner, with over 30 year’s clinical experience.

I have been UKCP (United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy) registered since 1998, UKCP are the main governing body for psychotherapists in the UK. I am also a full member of the National Register of Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (NRHP).
I can offer clients an integrative approach to therapy, which could include Hypnotherapy/Psychotherapy for low self-esteem, anxiety-related conditions and phobias.
EMDR for trauma-based issues/disorders like PTSD. Psychodynamic Therapy, helping individuals to untangle, experience and understand their true, deep-rooted feelings to resolve them.
IFS or Internal family systems or simply put parts work, says that your mind is made of different “parts.” and healing happens when your calm “Self” understands and helps those distressed or traumatised parts. Each part has a role and is trying to help you in some way.
The cognitive therapies i.e. REBT (Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy) which are based on the way you think (cognitive) and/or the way you behave. These therapies recognise that it is possible to change, or recondition, our thoughts or behaviour to overcome specific problems.

MIND, BODY AND SPIRIT
I believe mind, body and spirit are all part of the same system and a change in one can bring a change in the other, therefore healing and Reiki healing is also part of how I work.
I am passionate about psychotherapy and believe strongly in its capacity to heal and help people work through painful, traumatic and troubling life events. I am committed to promoting positive mental health and emotional well-being; something that I feel is often still overlooked. My aim is to provide safe, ethical and professional psychotherapy, creating an opportunity for you to work through difficult issues in a safe, non-judgmental, trauma informed and confidential environment.

MY APPROACH IS FLEXIBLE
My approach is flexible, some clients are seeking appointments in order to process a particular issue; i.e. bereavement or anger management, gender questioning or transitioning, LGBTQ+ therapy. Others might want trauma-based therapy, or longer term psychotherapy for depression, PTSD, sexual abuse or to work through the impact of, for example childhood issues or a fractured family.
My work as a psychotherapist has been varied including: working full time as a psychotherapist within the NHS and Occupational Health Police Service for over two decades, providing therapy for clients with depression, anxiety/stress related issues, relationship difficulties, trauma based disorders (PTSD), psychosexual and psychosocial counselling, critical incident stress debriefing and delivering training on mental health .
I provide Critical incident Stress Debriefing for individuals, groups or onsite for organisations.
I am a UKCP approved Clinical supervisor who offers supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists and therapists in training, both to organisations and private psychotherapists.
I am very mindful people have busy lives and can find it difficult to access services in working hours, therefore I offer daytime and evening appointments to help suit your needs.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I am a UKCP-approved Clinical Supervisor providing clinical supervision for over two decades, to counsellors, psychotherapists and therapists in training, both in organisational settings and in private practice. My work is grounded in an integrative and person-centred approach, and I welcome supervisees from a range of therapeutic backgrounds including integrative, humanistic and hypno-psychotherapy. I aim to create a supportive, collaborative and reflective supervisory space, where supervisees feel able to explore their client work openly, think creatively, and develop both professionally and personally. My supervision practice is informed by the integrative model of supervision and the person-centred supervisory approach developed by Robin Shohet and Peter Hawkins. Within this framework, I work creatively and relationally, encouraging curiosity and reflection while supporting ethical practice, professional development and the wellbeing of the practitioner. I understand that supervision is not only about clinical work, but also about having a safe and trusted space to reflect, gain perspective and feel supported in what can sometimes be challenging work. My intention is to offer a warm, respectful and encouraging supervisory relationship where supervisees feel both supported and constructively challenged as they continue to grow in their practice. I offer supervision to both qualified practitioners and therapists in training, and I welcome enquiries from individuals looking for a thoughtful and collaborative supervisory relationship.
