I work in a way that is relational, empathic and non-judgmental. I also believe that authenticity in the relationship involves gentle challenge, and that honest feedback can evoke meaningful change. Therefore empathy and challenge are at the heart of the therapy.
In our sessions I integrate different models of therapy, tailored to what you might need. One of these models is called Transactional Analysis: an approach that helps us understand the ways we relate with ourselves and others. We can also explore the connection between your body and mind, and use creativity as a way to access feelings that are harder to reach. Together, we can give space for thoughts and emotions to emerge, make meaning of your experiences, and find ways forwards.
I work with a broad range of topics, but some of the areas I have in depth experience in working with include: Relationships, Anxiety, LGBTQ+ identity, Sexuality, Intimacy, Spirituality, Culture, Religion, Shame, Depression, Stress, Family, Friendships, Bereavement, Belonging, Difficult emotions, Anger, Mental health, Intergenerational Friction, Trauma, Abuse, Self-confidence, Fear, Change, Work or Studies, and Life decisions.
I am an experienced Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist (CTA) and I specialize in working Relationally: supporting individuals better understand the way they relate with themselves, with others, and with the world around them.
For the past 13 years I have worked across mental health, wellbeing and therapeutic roles, including: in private therapy practice, at a community counselling centre, LGBTQ+ therapeutic services, a creative arts university, an engineering university, adult mental health services, secondary schools, and support for asylum seekers and refugees.
As well as working with individuals, I also specialize in working with couples & relationships, and am a clinical supervisor for other counsellors and therapists.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
