About Me

Experienced, Compassionate full-time psychotherapist. I have been seeing private clients for psychotherapy since 2003 and worked for a range of charities since 1981 and as a freelance trainer and consultant in the fields of drug and alcohol use, Health issues inc. HIV, AIDS, Hepatitis and Cancer, mental health and homelessness. I have lived in Devon since 1987. I work online using Zoom, FaceTime or Skype alongside having premises in the city centre between Exeter St. David's and Central train stations. My Exeter premises offers good access to public parking and there is limited free parking on the street where my practise is based. I have a large, comfortable therapy room in a Georgian building. I am an approved provider for several insurance companies.Free initial consultation appointment offered to see if I may be the right therapist for you with no obligation to proceed.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I worked in the field of addictions for over 20 years before training as a psychotherapist and since then within my private psychotherapy practise. I work within a harm reduction model and motivational approach rather than a 12 step approach.
I have experience working with many adults who have suffered bereavement as children.
I have worked for a Cancer Charity for several years providing group work within a residential context.
I have worked for charities within the field of mental health as well as working as a psychotherapist with people a wide range of diagnoses within my private practise.
I have experience working with employees of several large employers though company Employee Assistance Programmes and company insurance schemes.
