My aim is to help clients reach a better understanding of themselves, especially how their past experience affects their relation with others and themselves. At the same time, my work aims to support them also in making changes, which can allow them to have more fulfilling lives. I considers having a respectful, open and collaborative relationship with clients a key element of my practice. I've worked with clients from various pathways of life, nationalities and diverse backgrounds, establishing a full appreciation of cultural and ethnic differences. I offer therapy sessions in English, Spanish and Italian.
I am a Psychoanalytic and Psychodynamic Psychotherapist and Counselling Psychologist with numerous years of clinical experience within different settings, including therapeutic communities, hospitals, forensic services and specialist NHS psychotherapy services.
I have worked with clients with a wide range of difficulties, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, personality disorders and interpersonal difficulties. I provide both short and long-term psychological treatments.
Besides my clinical work with patients, I also have experience of providing reflective practice groups and training to individual healthcare practitioners and at an organizational level to teams, promoting their well-being and developing their professional practice. I also work as a clinical supervisor for mental health practitioners, including psychologists, assistant psychologists and trainees in Counselling Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
