In theoretical terms, I integrate Psychodynamic, Gestalt and Compassion Focused Therapy approaches, whilst also using my knowledge of the brain and nervous system to understand the whole body experience of emotions and trauma. With adults and older children, this can involve a mix of talking therapy, psycho-education, relationship building, mindfulness and creativity. With younger children, I use play therapy and also offer support to their parents. I sometimes speak with the child's school or other professionals to help integrate a team of support for the child.
I am an Integrative Psychotherapist, trained and experienced to support children, adolescents and and adults. I have worked psychotherapeutically in schools, charities and private practice. I offer both short and long term therapy.
I am trauma informed and understand how overwhelming it is to experience confusing and troubling feelings. We experience this throughout the whole body and sometimes it can seem unbearable and shameful. I help people make sense of this and find resources to help them cope and heal.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
