My approach varies, depending on the client's needs and what issues they want to work on. I do both short and long term work. I generally work face-to-face, but can also offer Zoom appointments. I always recommend an initial assessment session, which is an opportunity for you to get to know me and vice versa. We can then talk through what it is that you are wanting to work on, and what might be some ways forward. I encourage potential clients to then go away and have a think about it.
Feeling anxious or depressed? Needing help to work through relationship, family or career issues? I have over 14 years experience working with individuals and couples on a range of different issues. This has been mainly in private practice, but also as a counsellor in a university setting and for a charity that supports elderly clients. I have a strong appreciation of other cultures, having studied and worked in a number of different countries.
I have completed a certificate in counselling from NTU and a four year MA in Integrative Psychotherapy from the University of Birmingham (through the Sherwood Institute). In addition to being UKCP registered, I am also a member of the BACP.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
