My original training was as an integrative child and adolescent psychotherapist at the Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education (IATE). Since graduating in 2012, I have supported children and young people across various educational settings (primary and secondary, including SEND) and within the charity sector.
I am also trained and experienced in the delivery of DBT Skills Training, a more practical skills-based approach to helping people manage difficulties they may have in regulating their emotions. I believe the provision of some practical emotion management skills alongside the more traditional exploratory therapeutic approach can be hugely empowering for young people as they navigate the various transitions they face on their road to adulthood.
My therapeutic stance is supportive and person-centred: I strive to meet all young people where they are individually, with warmth, curiosity and a non-judgemental attitude.
I am a qualified psychotherapist, specialising in working with young people aged 16-25.
Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.
