I am a Family and Systemic Psychotherapist, Registered Social Worker and Associate Lecturer. I have extensive experience supporting children, young people, adults, couples and families through periods of difficulty, change and uncertainty. I offer a warm, respectful and collaborative space for individuals, couples and families to think together about the difficulties they are experiencing and the relationships that matter to them.
I believe that difficulties rarely exist in isolation. Our relationships, families, identities, cultures, communities and life experiences all shape how we understand ourselves and one another. My approach therefore focuses not only on the difficulty that brings you to therapy, but also on the relationships, experiences and patterns surrounding it.
Reaching out for therapy can feel like a significant step, particularly when difficulties have been present for some time or when family members have different ideas about what needs to change.
My systemic approach means that I do not simply focus on what might be “wrong” with an individual. I am curious about the bigger picture: relationships, family patterns, different generations, culture, identity, life experiences and the wider systems surrounding you. Therapy can provide an opportunity to understand familiar patterns differently, hear perspectives that may have become difficult to hear, and develop new ways of relating to one another.
I have substantial experience within social care as well as child and adolescent mental health services, working with young people and families experiencing complex emotional, relational and mental health difficulties. I also have experience supporting families where neurodevelopmental differences form an important part of understanding their experiences and relationships.
Whether you are coming individually, as a couple or as a family, I aim to offer a space in which different perspectives can be held with care and curiosity, while keeping sight of the changes that you would like therapy to help you achieve.
