My Approach

At the heart of my work is a deep belief in the inherent resilience and resourcefulness within each person I have the privilege of supporting. I see my role not as an expert imparting wisdom, but as a collaborative partner walking alongside you on your unique journey.

Together, we'll draw from a tapestry of therapeutic modalities to find what resonates most deeply. Perhaps you'll find solace and insight in the introspective exploration of Transactional Analysis, unpacking the unconscious drivers behind your current patterns. Or you may respond best to the warm, person-centered presence that allows you to process emotions and rediscover your authentic self.

If you're navigating the complexities of trauma or managing overwhelming feelings of anxiety or depression, I'm honored to offer trauma-informed, compassionate support. We can integrate practical cognitive-behavioral strategies to build coping skills, while also making space for the deeper, slower work of healing and growth.

And for those of you seeking to understand and embrace your neurodivergent identity, I approach this work with a celebratory lens. I believe your unique ways of perceiving the world are a profound gift, and I'm passionate about creating a safe, empowering space for you to explore. Regardless of what brings you to therapy, I am committed to crafting a personalised approach that empowers you to reconnect with your inherent wholeness. Our sessions will be a judgement-free zone where you can feel seen, heard, and valued exactly as you are. I see the therapeutic relationship itself as a powerful catalyst for change - a place where trust and vulnerability can develop as we work together.

What Brings Clients to My Practice:
Clients often arrive feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from themselves. They may be managing anxiety, depression, or the aftermath of difficult experiences. Many seek a therapist who can work flexibly - someone who understands that healing isn't linear and that different approaches work for different people at different times.

How I Help You Move Forward:
Using my integrative approach, we'll identify which therapeutic tools best serve your current needs. Whether that's the insight-focused work of Transactional Analysis, the supportive exploration of Person-Centred therapy, or the practical strategies of CBT or Solution Focussed Therapy- we'll find what works for you.
My trauma-informed, relationally-focused practice ensures you feel safe while challenging yourself to grow.

About Me

I'm Cherisse, and I'm passionate about creating a warm, supportive space where real healing can happen. As a dynamic integrative therapist, I believe that each person's journey is unique, which is why I tailor my approach to fit your individual needs and goals.

Drawing from my training in Transactional Analysis, Person-Centred Therapy, and CBT skills, I work with you to find the therapeutic tools that resonate most deeply. Whether you're navigating life transitions, managing anxiety or depression, exploring relationships, or seeking personal growth, I'm here to walk alongside you with genuine care and understanding.

I particularly enjoy working with professionals experiencing burnout, individuals exploring their identity, and those dealing with complex emotional needs. My practice is trauma-informed and welcomes neurodivergent clients, always honoring where you are while gently supporting where you want to be.

What I love most about this work is witnessing the courage it takes to seek support and the incredible resilience that emerges when people feel truly seen and heard. My approach is collaborative and relational, working together to help you to connect with your strength and create meaningful change.
In our sessions, you'll find a space free from judgement, where your experiences are valued and your goals matter. I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is healing, and I'm committed to building that foundation of trust and safety with you.

Special Interests

Like all UKCP registered psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors I can work with a wide range of issues, but here are some areas in which I have a special interest or additional experience.

I support clients navigation work transitions, employment change, burnout and depleted self care by offering space to pause and reflect. My approach supports people to understand what's shifting, reconnect with their values and build sustainable ways of working that preserve wellbeing and restore a sense of direction.
I have direct experience supporting clients as they explore the rich tapestry of their identity. Whether you're navigating questions of culture, race, sexuality, age, or other intersections, I bring empathy and expertise to this deep, transformative work. Together, we'll unpack societal messages, heal internalised narratives, and empower you to embrace the fullest expression of who you are. This journey of self-discovery can be profoundly healing and liberating.
As an integrative therapist, I have a deep interest in helping clients explore the role of communication in their relationships. Drawing from Attachment Theory, Transactional Analysis, and a developmental lens, I support the healing of past relational wounds so you can build the fulfilling, authentic connections you deserve. With experience working with complex issues like domestic abuse, boundary challenges, and estrangement, I'll support with you to gain perspective on patterns and support you to improve your opportunities for greater intimacy.
In addition to my clinical work, I have extensive experience delivering reflective practice and practice development within mental health and criminal justice organisations. As a supervisor, I offer a uniquely integrative approach - blending existential and humanistic principles to create a space for counsellors and therapists to deeply explore their work, cultivate self-awareness, and foster professional growth. Whether you're navigating complex client dynamics, grappling with burnout, or seeking to expand your therapeutic toolkit, I'm honored to partner with you in this transformative process.
Trauma, whether experienced in childhood or adulthood, can profoundly shape our sense of self and our ways of relating to the world. In our work together, I draw upon my training in trauma-informed care to provide a safe, supportive space for healing. Through the lens of Transactional Analysis, we'll explore how your early life experiences have authored your current narrative and "life script." By unearthing these deeply ingrained patterns, you'll cultivate self-compassion and empower yourself to rewrite the story - freeing you to engage more authentically in your relationships and life.
